Here's a great way to "dress up" your plain white serving dish to match the theme or color scheme of your party - line the bottom of the dish with scrapbook paper!

Since having our BYOK beach party - I find kabobs to be my fav new party food.
Here is my latest fascinating kabob - salad style!

This past weekend we celebrated a friend's birthday at the beach and wanted to add an interesting twist to a typical potluck beach bbq...so each guest was asked to bring their own kabob to share. This was my contribution - an antipasto kabob with salami, provolone cheese, marinated artichokes, cheese-filled tortellini, black olive and topped with a cherry tomato.
Our creative friends provided these amazing kabobs:
Buffalo Chicken and Celery
Grilled Pineapple and Mango
Grilled Shrimp and Boonie Peppers
Caprese Salad
Grilled Seitan, Onions, Mushrooms and Bell Peppers
Gummy Bears and Marshmallows
(made by the kids)

This is a great example of a concept that can be adapted to any type of event with any theme!

One of the latest trends for parties is the photo booth. Whether you have rented a booth of your own or just set up and area with a camera...they are becoming more and more popular. It is a great way to create memories and you can send the photos home as favors or send them later with your thank you cards. It is an unexpected touch, your guests are sure to remember especially if you add props and customize them to the theme of your party. Here are some great examples:

I love these individual cups so that everyone gets a little "dip-dip" (as my 2 year old would say) with each veggie.

We recently threw a Stock the Bar Couple's Shower and each guest left with their own "Hangover "Kit"
I purchased the boxes from uline.com, made a bed of shredded black paper and place a mini bottle of vodka, mini Spicy Hot V8, Emergen-C and a roll of breath mints. Next to the favor boxes, I created a sign and framed it reading "Thanks for coming and ceelbrating with us tonight, we hope this kit takes off the bite."

I love the way my friend, Dalise, labeled the mason jars for her party! The adults were able to write their names on the label, but the children were pre-written and had a colorful top with a fun straw!
